    Kelly Brown,

    is a proud native of Detroit Michigan, from the Joy Rd community she witnesses the rise, the fall and the come back of her community and city. In 2009 Brown experienced a shift in her life that furthered her to remove the blindfold from her eyes and opened her mindset up to reality to see the shape of herself, family and community. In 2011 Brown later took her education further, she started at Wayne County Community college in the program for forensic photography, due to the programming being unfunded she shifted to Social Worker and obtained her bachelor’s degree in social work in 2015 from Mary Grove College. Before ever considering the Social Work program, she already held the title of the neighborhood Therapist, Counselor, Youth-Program director and most importantly someone the community can trust.

    At Marygrove is where Brown, took an interest in Human Behavior and Psychology and that allowed her to take a deeper look into her family, environment and community issues. Brown has passionately dedicated over 14 years of service working with undervalued at-risk youth and families. As a influencer and author, she focuses on the importance of health, wealth and financial literacy in the black community.

    She went from one day only focusing on clothes and shoes to having a God given purpose to teach others how to make it out the ghetto which is the mindset. Brown stated “coming from my community many people don’t make it out” Brown has been feathered in the Wall Street Journal in October 2020 “Scarce Credit Hold Back Detroit Housing”, March 2021 Michigan Chronicle “Women and books Detroit inspirational female Authors” and April 2022 Voyage Michigan Magazine as a “Hidden Gem” in the city of Detroit.

    Brown mission is to uplift other and teaching the importance of doing for self and being a stake holder in your community. Serving 9 years As a youth Coach for Vista Maria community-based treatment agencies for youth suffering the effects of severe abuse, neglect and other traumas Brown also served 8 years with Detroit public schools and have transition full time into community organizing with Force Detroit. She is the brand founder of “I Make My Moves In Silence” which is a brand focusing on stepping outside of the box, being your authentic self and freeing yourself from mental bondage and slavery. Brown has a non-profit Solo Saving Our Lost Ones is geared toward community devolvement and youth programing. Her passion is to help other people in her community to come from under the white spell and free themselves from bondage and captivity in their thinking. To understand the importance of doing for self and not allowing others to cut your water facet on and off. It’s time to rise above and do for self” To gain more knowledge in community organizing Brown was accepted into the May 2022 Community Impact Incubator program launched Strategic Community Partners and the Marygrove Conservancy.

  • Secretary

    Tiye Green serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for S.O.L.O: Saving Our Ones Ones. She is a Licensed attorney with several years’ experience specializing in intellectual property and global brand protection issues. She’s served as primary counsel to several start-up entities in the industrial hemp and legalized cannabis industries, helping to navigate compliance regulations and achieve required licenses.

    Believing that careers in the legal field should be more assessable to students and communities of color, Greene also dedicates herself to developing and implementing pipeline programs designed to increase diversity in legal education and the legal profession.

    Greene earned her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School and her BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

    Leslie Fields has dedicated over 20 years at Chrysler Corporation working in various capacities. Ms. Fields made it a priority to participate in youth outreach initiatives such as VIP mentoring and World of Works. Both programs targeted underserved youth and communities. In Addition, she volunteered many hours with the Michigan Metro Girl Scout Council. She received her undergrad degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Master’s in administration from Central Michigan University after an early retirement, she began work as an afterschool enrichment instructor and is currently working with The City of Detroit’s Goal Line Program. She has many years of experience mentoring youth and preparing them for a productive future.

s.O.L.O is a community development and enrichment program based in the City of Detroit. The program is designed to give families and at-risk youth ambition, tenacity and freedom through verbal and written messages with specialized community programming. SOLO has been serving Detroit’s adolescent children and young adults for over 14 years, and now seeks to expand and build on its outreach efforts with the introduction of its Solo Bus Project “classroom 212”.

S.O.L.O: Saving Our Lost Ones is a non-profit, community-building organization that serves as an educational hub and resource to young adults in the metro-Detroit area. Believing that any space can be a classroom, SOLO influences community growth through targeted projects, seminars and activities designed to teach our youth about health, activism, and financial literacy.

Saving Our Lost Ones is dedicated in its mission of rebuilding strong communities and youth mindsets. As an organization we are committed to providing the youth of Southeastern Detroit the opportunity to created a culture of success in their community. The Southeastern Detroit has been the victim of poverty, blight and crime for the last six decades. The continuities of the area’s primary problem have existed for this extended period of time because of the lack of access to an adequate education, lack of leadership and emotional support.

Mission: Is to culturally expose At-Risk youth to a life that goes beyond their neighborhoods and to transform their thinking from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset.

Vision: Is to help youth overcome the distraction of society normal and to transition their mindsets to higher thinking that teaches them that health, economic stability, and financial literacy is the true wealth.
